I ordered that pendant (or a darn similar one) from Overstock last year. It was huge. Very cool, very nice looking, but way too big for over my dining table.
I love your ideas, though. You could totally pull them off!
Because I'm obsessive, I checked my Overstock account and this is the one I ordered: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/White-Shade-4-light-Iron-Chandelier/3672053/product.html
It's 10" larger in diameter than yours (thus why it was mongo in size), but awfully similar otherwise. Go for it!!
I have considered...and I'm with everyone else. I am in love with shades that are lined with ribbon. Option 1 looks intriguing, but all of the options would be great.

I am partial to the first look too. But I also like the light fixture in it's original state. Don't hate me!
P.s. I was going to feature your silver leaf project on my blog soon if that's ok?
That first concept is too cool. But you can never go wrong with gold leafing anything!
Kat :)

I'm ready to be jealous again!
I absolutely love the first option! Just stunning.
OOOO! I loves the first one with the shells. Very different and one of a kind looking!
